We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!”
― Humbert Wolfe
I think we rediscover our homes in the fall. After spreading our wings outdoors in the spring and summer, the months of autumn whisper to us with cooler winds and earlier nights. They tell us to go in, to freshen and renew our homes for the coming of winter.
For many years, I resented this turn inward. How I wanted to linger outside! Although I still feel a certain melancholy when sandals must be put away, I’ve come to see this as a wonderful time to really “nest” into my home. What better time for a vigorous clean, a purge of those objects that do not speak to our souls, and a quest in search of new treasures that will cheer us as the sun wanes.
Maybe you have been doing the same? Or perhaps you need a little inspiration and help to guide you? As always, Frugal Chic is here to help you. We also have a few exciting new announcements (and a prize to be won)!
